Grassroots Conservation Campaign

Organizational Growth - Goal: $1 million

We believe that to further the success of our organization we must spread our message to as many groups as possible. Our message is a natural fit with conservationists, hunters and anyone who is passionate about the outdoors. We must convince them that becoming involved with Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever as members, mentors or volunteers is essential to preserving the natural habitat that they personally value and enjoy. Unless we act now, hunting and our hunting heritage will irreparably change. Prairies will be lost. Youth will lose the thrill of seeing wildlife in a natural setting. We need to find our allies and work together to create a better, brighter future.

Membership Development

Organizational Growth

What is it?

Remember the members. Pheasants Forever's membership development is an ongoing effort to increase the number of passionate, committed volunteers — particularly in the hunting community. The program desperately needs additional resources for creative recruitment efforts. Our goal is to find people with natural interest in habitat restoration, maintenance and conservation and get them to work together as members to build a better environment. Matching gifts and donations are crucial to attract and retain members.

Why is it important?

Simply put, there is power in numbers. Our increasing size gives us an edge over other organizations seeking the same resources. The more people who join Pheasants Forever, the greater the impact our efforts will enjoy. For legislative and political issues such as the Farm Bill, votes count. It's important that we continually attract and retain members thereby ensuring a steady and reliable pool of dedicated advocates, voices and votes!

How will we achieve it?

We will achieve our membership goals by elevating public awareness of our organization, our mission, our brand and increasing membership value and benefits. We will achieve elevated awareness by effectively marketing our cause through advertising, public relations, the internet and media channels such as Pheasants Forever Television and Outdoor News. Broad public awareness will also be achieved through corporate partnerships. Working together with high profile companies we can quickly achieve enhanced visibility, credibility and recognition. Last but certainly not least, we will continue developing our legendary Pheasants Forever banquets. Gathering faithful advocates together with motivated newcomers is an effective tool for raising public awareness, enthusiasm and recruits. The camaraderie and synergy generated at our banquets is the greatest showcase of our 'people power,' a fact we have long recognized, enjoyed and encouraged.

Chapter Support

Chapter Support Pheasants Forever chapters are supported directly by a regional staff who are in turn guided by comprehensive policies and documented practices. Additionally, local chapters are locally funded and locally controlled by the members at the county level. This empowers members with a special feeling of control because they decide how each chapter dollar is allocated. Their money. Our cause. Our land. Even as local chapters enjoy a certain amount of autonomy, we must work to ensure their continued success and longevity.

Why is it important?

We must enable dedicated chapter leaders to "pass the torch" to ensure continuing impact and presence at the local level. In a sense, each chapter is unique, yet all are bound together by our common mission — the conservation and protection of wildlife habitat and passing on the American hunting heritage. When a successful local leader steps down, we're working to ensure that new leadership is ready to continue the work, progress and success.

How will we achieve it?

We will achieve chapter support by informing the public of our organization's success and inspire others to join our cause. The only thing better than a good cause is a good, successful cause. Pheasants Forever is known as a national leader in conservation. We have restored more than five million acres of wildlife habitat. As we share our story and our successes we will be joined by new faces, fresh ideas and passionate champions of our common cause. Like new growth, these new members will develop over time to assume leadership positions and continue a cycle of conservation that has thrived for more than a generation.
